If you hike near Lyons, plan around the smoke. Boulder County plans prescribed fires across 413 acres at the Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain and the Nelson Loop area of Hall Ranch. The Boulder Reporting Lab's newsletter flags the burns too, with park closures expected.
Want details first? The county holds a public meeting Saturday, Nov. 14, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lyons Regional Library District Community Room, 451 Fourth Ave. Smoke can affect air quality, and the county points you to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for wood-smoke health information.
