- ➤ On October 21, officials installed two new plaques at Lafayette Cemetery to honor about 200 people buried in unmarked graves. Mayor J.D. Mangat and historian Frank Archuleta called for adding more names—marking a step toward recognizing past wrongs and continuing research. Colorado Hometown Weekly

- ➤ Lafayette residents now have several ways to manage fallen leaves to improve soil health and prevent drainage problems. They may leave leaves as natural mulch or use their weekly compost carts and special cleanup events on Nov. 1, 8, or 15—plus, they receive a discount for yard debris drop-off at Western Disposal. - ➤ Boulder County Public Health gave out the 2025 Healthy Community Awards on Oct. 17 at the Boulder County Southeast Hub in Lafayette—local leaders were commended for their work to make the county healthier and more fair. The awards honored winners such as Lisa Allen of Boulder Community Health, the team from Gapter Septic Systems & Excavation, Melissa Bonomo from Albertsons, UpRoot Colorado and Alejandro Prieto, who helped people get needed care.
