EDUCATION NEWS

  • Keep It Clean Partnership announced that submissions are open for a water-themed art contest for K-12 students in Boulder County. Students must submit artwork on a standard sheet of paper (8.5 by 11 inches) that answers 'I am grateful for water because…' with entries due by the deadline (Nov. 9, 11:59 p.m. MT) while prizes will be awarded by grade division.  Boulder County

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Boulder County Public Works’ Resource Conservation Division opened grant applications for 2026 Circular Economy Fund projects from August 18 to September 30, 2025—eligible applicants include local governments, nonprofits, school districts and private companies requesting funds between $1,000 and $30,000 to support resource diversion methods such as recycling and composting.  Boulder County

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Mobility and Access Coalition newsletter reported that the MAC meeting held on October 15 at the St. Vrain Community Hub (515 Coffman Street, Longmont) reviewed transit updates and free-fare options while highlighting the Lafayette grand opening of the Willoughby Corner affordable housing project with 192 energy-efficient homes offering free EcoPasses and RTD access. It also announced regional events including the Safe Routes to School virtual summit (October 28 to 30) and ended a public input survey on housing, climate, and the local economy that ran from September 22 to October 17.  Boulder County
