- ➤ The Lafayette Recreation Department is hosting a Halloween paddle event on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Waneka Lake Boathouse at 1600 Caria Drive — paddleboats, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards are available for rent at $5 or $10 per 30 minutes with free games and spooky treats. Participants must be 16 or older to rent independently — younger riders must ride with an adult while only Lafayette-owned watercraft are used to safeguard the lake ecosystem. - ➤ Wildfire Partners and the Boulder Area Realtors Association will host a wildfire mitigation training for realtors at the Boulder County Southeast Community Hub in Lafayette from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 9 — the four-hour course will offer continuing education credit and guide agents on reducing home ignition risks.
