- ➤ The Lafayette Music Fest will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday — organizers expect up to 3,000 attendees across six venues and have allocated 70% of the budget to local artists and creatives. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lafayette residents can dispose of fall leaves and branches by using weekly compost collection for small debris, attending cleanup events on November 1, November 8, or November 15 in designated areas, and taking advantage of a discounted drop-off at Western Disposal as well as a community chipping program—guidelines also suggest using leaves as natural mulch to improve soil health. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fire districts and departments serving mountain and rural areas of Boulder County will be able to apply for a one-time grant to fund equipment, training, and infrastructure improvements until 5 p.m. MT on Oct. 15 — agencies must register online and submit only one application to be considered for part or full funding from a pool expected to be $2 million.
