- ➤ On Saturday, Oct. 18, Boulder County will host a drop-in fishing derby at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat where children and seniors team up to catch rainbow trout from 9 a.m. to noon and win prizes for heaviest trout, largest age difference, and first catch limit. Participants must bring their own gear and seniors need a valid Colorado fishing license—please note the wheelchair accessible pier is closed until further notice. Boulder County

- ➤ Lafayette residents have several easy options for disposing of fall leaves & branches as the season nears. They can use weekly compost carts for small, cut pieces, enroll in the Three Cart Program for curbside collection on Saturday, November 1, 8, and 15, take advantage of a 40% discount at Western Disposal, work with community chipping events, or use leaves as natural mulch in gardens.
