GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Lafayette is accepting applications for Board, Commission and Committee positions from Aug. 25 through Sept. 19 at 5 p.m., giving local residents a chance to help shape the city's future. A recruitment open house will be held on Aug. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bob L. Burger Recreation Center—this event will provide more details about the advisory groups and the application process. - ➤ City Council is planning to update three aging city facilities + Bob L. Burger Recreation Center, Parks and Public Works Service Center, and City Hall to better serve ever-growing community needs. The Council will decide in late August if a $74 million bond will be presented on the November ballot to fund the improvements. City of Lafayette
