Good morning, Lafayette. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 25th of July.

CULTURE NEWS

  • Boulder County will host a range of book clubs, author talks and book signings at locations including Lafayette Library, Read Queen Bookstore and Boulder Book Store. Events span from today’s RQ Book Club discussing 'Clear' at 6 p.m. to Newcomers Book Club meeting on Aug. 6 with some sessions charging $5—offering local readers a variety of opportunities to engage with authors and share their love of books.  Colorado Hometown Weekly

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Boulder County residents can join the Switch Together program which lets homeowners install solar panels, battery storage and EV chargers at a lower cost before federal tax credits end. Lafayette homeowners can sign up for free until Sept. 3 to save about 21% off market prices—this is the last chance to combine the group discount with a 30% tax credit.  Boulder County

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Boulder County commissioners approved an extra $561,000 from the general fund to keep three Head Start preschool sites open for another year amid federal funding uncertainty—this sum fills a gap left when federal grants and state cuts did not cover the full program cost.
