Good morning, Lafayette. Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 19th of June.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday, the national NAACP sued 12 former executives of the Boulder County Branch for alleged civil conspiracy, theft, breach of fiduciary duty, and conversion amid the branch's disputed dissolution earlier this year. The suit seeks injunctive and declaratory relief and sets a scheduling conference for Aug. 7 at a Denver courthouse—law firm Crowell and Morning LLP represents the NAACP.  Colorado Hometown Weekly
  • Lafayette City Council approved a memorial plaque at the northeast corner of the Lafayette Cemetery to honor nearly 200 people buried in unmarked graves—poverty, racism, discrimination and neglect contributed to the oversight. The plaque will include a QR code linking to names and details housed at the Lafayette History Museum and Public Library, with installation planned later this year.  Colorado Hometown Weekly
