Good morning, Lafayette.

The City began renovating the Starkey Building in the Festival Plaza area in early 2025 to convert the historic home into a community hub; work has included foundation reinforcement, wall removal and interior framing installation while preserving the original front porch and window trim. A new concrete porch will be poured soon for better ADA access, and updated windows, doors and a fresh coat of paint will improve energy efficiency and expand event space.
