About this event
Join us and meet fellow innovators, explore potential venture teams and learn how to get involved in CU Boulder's New Venture Challenge (NVC).
You don't need a fully formed idea, a business plan or prior startup experience to participate. Whether you're a builder, designer, engineer, researcher, business-minded thinker or simply curious about entrepreneurship, we've got a place for you.
During this interactive session, you'll:
• Meet teammates with complementary skills, interests and ideas who want to build something together
• Learn about NVC and how to participate
• Find resources and opportunities to help you turn your idea into action
Agenda:
7-7:15 p.m.—Discover and connect. Grab a slice of pizza and chat with Julie Penner, the new Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative.
7:15-7:30 p.m.–What builds a great venture team? In addition to tips on team building, you’ll also hear about 2027 NVC updates including track options and challenge guidelines.
7:30-8:00 p.m.–Build (or join) your dream team. Take the stage for a one-minute pitch about yourself, your idea and any teammate or skill needs.
• Don't have an idea? No problem, you'll see and hear about other people's ideas.
• Have an idea but feel a little shy? We’ve got you covered! Bring a brief description of your idea to share so that potential teammates can follow-up with you.
8-8:30 p.m.— Networking. Meet potential collaborators to help bring your venture to life or find the perfect match for your skillset.
What is NVC?
The New Venture Challenge (NVC)—a signature program of CU Boulder’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative —is a launchpad for aspiring problem-solvers and creatives from all disciplines. Participants build viable ventures through entrepreneurial events and programming, community support, mentorship and the chance to compete for hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding. NVC is for current CU Boulder students, faculty and staff.
Listed by University of Colorado Boulder (Localist), gathered by the Lafayette events calendar.
