Mystery Santa Christmas Class — Special Test Event

About this event

Classes are held in Hope Blakely’s professional working art studio and gallery in Arvada, Colorado—the same creative space where Hope paints, teaches, and displays original artwork. This is a very special small-group test class for a future project, and I need four adventurous “guinea pig” students to help me practice teaching it. We’ll be creating a festive Christmas scene featuring Santa, winter trees, and a cozy nighttime holiday atmosphere — but I’m keeping the full design a mystery for now. Because this is a practice-teaching class, seating is limited to just 4 students so I can pay close attention to how the lesson flows, where students need extra help, and what may need simplifying before the project is taught again. You’ll still go home with a very cool completed Christmas painting. Along the way, we’ll work with acrylic underpainting and oil layers, build depth over a dark background, shape trees and winter forms, control contrast and highlights, and create a rich holiday atmosphere. Think of this as a behind-the-scenes workshop, a sneak peek, and a Christmas painting class all rolled into one. All supplies are included, including the 11 × 14 canvas, paint, use of brushes, and aprons if needed. Ages 14+. Only 4 seats are available for this special event.
