Teen Wheel Throwing (13 - 17 yrs)

About this event

In this teen class (for both beginners and continuing potters) beginners learn wheel throwing from the ground up—centering, opening, pulling walls, trimming, and attaching handles—while continuing students level up with consistency, sets, and surface design. We’ll throw bowls, mugs, and plates, explore altering and shaping forms, and finish with glazing techniques that make your pieces pop. Each week blends short demos with plenty of guided practice and 1:1 coaching so everyone progresses at their own pace. Whether it’s your first time on the wheel or you’re ready to refine skills, this class meets you where you are and helps you grow.

All pieces will be fired and glazed with dinnerware safe glazes -- suitable for eating or drinking out of, or putting into the dishwasher and microwave. Pieces will be sent home throughout the semester, though our final pieces will be glazed during the last class and ready for pick up about 2 weeks later (holiday schedule dependent).
