About this event

This is a hybrid event, both in-person at the JUC and streaming live on our YouTube Channel. If you can't make it in-person, you can watch the streaming broadcast at https://www.youtube.com/@jeffersonhumanists2779/streams .

NOTE: We will NOT be recording this program for later viewing as we normally do. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Join Jefferson Humanists for our monthly program titled, **Maria Von Trapp and the Story Behind*The Sound of Music*,** a portrayal by Elsa Wolff.

Matriarch of the Trapp Family Singers, Maria von Trapp (1905-1987) is a woman of passionate faith and uncompromising determination. From orphan to Baroness, she leads her family from being refugees to an internationally known singing group. Sharing memories from pre-WWII Austria to the 1965 release of The Sound of Music, you’ll learn the story of the Trapp Family and their journey to a new home in America. Step back in time to meet this funny, lively, and unforgettable woman via this entertaining Living History program. Lots of time for Q&A included.

Elsa Wolff, entertainer and educator, has been performing, teaching, singing and storytelling since 1997. As a performer, Elsa, also known as "The Guitar Lady" performs for elementary age children as well as senior citizens throughout the Denver area. Elsa also performs around the country through her Living History Presentations as Amelia Earhart (retired character), Minnie Pearl, Maria von Trapp, Annie Oakley and most recently Beatrix Potter.

This program is hosted by Jefferson Humanists, a chapter of the American Humanist Association.
