Title: Correlating Ultrafast Vibronic Dynamics with Spin, Charge, and Ions
Abstract: Nonequilibrium dynamics in molecules and materials often involve many different degrees of freedom that influence the evolution of photochemical and photophysical processes. These degrees of freedom invariably include electronic and vibrational motions, and in many systems with relevance to quantum information science, the electron spin degree of freedom is an additionally sought after parameter. In this talk, I will describe my research group’s recent efforts to understand the interplay between vibronic dynamics and spin – or spin-vibronic dynamics – in photomagnetic systems and in a new series of chiral molecular complexes. In addition, I will briefly discuss the complex interplay of vibronic dynamics and ions in organic mixed ionic-electronic conductors using spectro-electrochemistry interfaced with our ultrafast coherent multidimensional spectroscopic experiments.
