About this event
Aerial Yoga Flow & Restore This Aerial Yoga class introduces the foundations of the practice, helping you ease into and out of poses with confidence and awareness. Using the hammock as a supportive prop, you will learn the basic techniques of aerial yoga while developing strength, stability, and focus. Through the connection of movement and breath, the practice encourages greater body awareness while gently challenging balance, coordination, and flexibility. The hammock supports the body in unique ways, allowing you to explore postures more deeply while decompressing the spine and relieving tension in the joints. This playful and uplifting class invites you to rediscover a sense of joy and curiosity—awakening your inner child while moving with mindfulness and care. Whether you are new to aerial yoga or looking to strengthen your foundation, this class provides a supportive and engaging environment to build confidence in the hammock. For the second half of class, you will use the hammock to deepen your practice, supporting you through gentle movement and relaxation. With the hammock cradling and supporting the body, you’ll be guided into restorative postures designed to melt away tension and invite deep rest. This practice encourages spacious breathing, nervous system reset, and a sense of lightness throughout the body. Precautions & Contraindications Aerial yoga involves partial suspension, gentle inversions, and pressure from the hammock on different areas of the body. Please inform your instructor before class if you have any injuries, medical conditions, or concerns. This class may not be appropriate for individuals with: • Recent surgery or acute injury • Glaucoma or significant eye pressure issues • Uncontrolled high blood pressure • Severe vertigo or balance disorders • Herniated or severely bulging discs (unless cleared by a healthcare provider) • Pregnancy (unless specifically trained in prenatal aerial yoga) Please use caution and speak with your instructor if you have: • Neck, shoulder, or spinal injuries • Joint instability or hypermobility • Chronic sinus or inner ear issues • Heart conditions Additional guidelines: • Avoid eating heavy meals 1–2 hours before class. • Remove jewelry or accessories that could snag the hammock. • Wear clothing that covers the backs of the knees and underarms for comfort with the fabric. Students are always encouraged to listen to their bodies, move at their own pace, and rest whenever needed. Modifications will be offered to support a safe and enjoyable practice.
