Lafayette announced a Halloween costume exchange open until Sept. 29 for residents to drop off gently used costumes at the Lafayette Library, Bob L. Burger Recreation Center, or Erie Community Center. The costumes will be available to thrift at Mini-Con on Oct. 4—which will include art workshops, Drag Queen Storytime and science experiments.

The Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts are set to elect new board members in November, with Boulder Valley holding one contested race in District E between Jeff Anderson and Deann Bucher and uncontested races in Districts B and F—while St. Vrain Valley has two contested races in which six candidates vie for four seats including contests in Districts B and D.

East Boulder County families can enjoy community events for children and teens this week — Erie hosts Adaptive Storytime on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at its community library; Lafayette offers Littlest Learners on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., bilingual Storytime on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday Storytime on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., a farm storytime on Thursday at 11 a.m., and a Teen Maker Hangout on Monday at 3:30 p.m.; and Louisville hosts a Wildlife Day Celebration on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the arboretum.
